Cutting Department using Oxygen

Oxygen cutting is a method of cutting metals, where we take advantage of the property of oxygen to oxidize metals at high speed, when they are in a fiery state. The oxygen cutting process includes the following steps: a. Incandescent the metal at the cutting point with the help of the oxygen-acetylene flame. b. Oxygen is pumped to the cutting point under pressure, which oxidizes the incandescent metal. The formed oxides are removed under the pressure of the supplied oxygen, the cohesion of the metal is broken at the point of incandescence and the cutting takes place. In order to achieve the cutting of a metal by oxygen cutting, the combustion temperature of the metal, ie its rapid oxidation, must take place at a temperature lower than its melting temperature. Metal materials that can be cut by oxygen cutting are ordinary steels, cast steels, etc.[:]
